Trauma Journalism Awareness

University of Mississippi, School of Journalism and New Media is hosting a trauma journalism awareness event on September 12-13, 2024, in Oxford, MS. Javier Garza is presenting on trauma journalism awareness to faculty and students in Oxford MS. Javier was a 2014 Ochberg Fellow at the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma and a Knight Fellow at the International Center for Journalists. Garza has developed digital security training for journalist. Garza serves as a Safety Advisor for the World Association of Newspapers and serves on the boards of international organizations dedicated to press freedom, such as Article19, the World Editors Forum and the Internet Freedom Festival.
